Welcome to CBE CONNECT ("the App"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the App and its services, including but not limited to cross-border remittance, loan services, chat features, and other financial services ("Services"). By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App
1 The Agreement
- 1.1This Agreement sets out the complete Terms and Conditions (hereinafter called "These Terms and Conditions") which shall be applicable to the CBE CONNECT application.
- 1.2These Terms and Conditions might be changed from time to time and CBE will notify the change to the Terms and Conditions to the customer through the email address provided by the Customer. These Terms and Conditions and any amendments or variations thereto take effect on their date of publication.

2 Acceptance of the Terms and Conditions
- 2.1Before applying to use the CBE CONNECT application you should carefully read and understand these Terms and Conditions which will govern the use and operation of CBE CONNECT application.
- 2.2If you do not agree with these Terms and Conditions, please click"delete your account" on the Menu.
- 2.3You will be deemed to have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions upon clicking the"Agree" option on the Menu requesting you to confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to abide by these Terms and Conditions; and/or by using or continuing to use and operate CBE CONNECT application.
- 2.4These Terms and Conditions may be amended or varied by CBE from time to time and will take effect on their date of publication.
- 2.5You acknowledge and accept CBE CONNECT application only electronically.
3 Requirements to Activate and Use connect Application
- 3.1To activate the CBE CONNECT application with CBE, you must be at least:
- 3.1.118 years old and above;
- 3.1.2You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement;
- 3.1.3By using the app, you represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements;
- 3.1.4To access certain features of the App, you must register for an account.
- 3.1.5You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
- 3.1.6You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other security breach.
- 3.1.7You will receive a notification for successful activation.
- 3.2To use the CBE CONNECT application:
- 3.2.1The Customer must be a lawful resident of Ethiopia or any part of the world;
- 3.2.2The Customer must have a legal ID that can describe its identity;
- 3.2.3The Customer must provide his/her true and accurate personal information;
- 3.2.4The Customer must possess his/her phone number every time using the CBE CONNECT application;
- 3.2.5The Customer must provide his/her phone number which is currently under his/her possession and actively working;
- 3.2.6The Customer is not allowed to use another person’s CBE CONNECT account;
4 Cancellation of Payment, Charge back, and Refunds
- All payment transactions processed through the application are non-refundable. You may not charge back any payment transaction made or allow a charge back of any payment transaction for reasons other than unauthorized use, in accordance with the agreement with the issuer of Your Card. Once we have settled your Payment Request for recipients, you may not be able to cancel it.
5 The services
- 5.1The App provides financial services including but not limited to:
- 5.1.1Cross boarder remittance services
- 5.1.2Mortgage loan services
- 5.1.3Chat features
- 5.1.4Load money
- 5.1.5And others
- 5.2All Services are subject to availability and may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice.
- 5.3You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in compliance with these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations.
6 Fees
- 6.1Certain Services may incur fees, which will be clearly disclosed to you before you use the Service. You are responsible for paying all applicable fees, taxes, and charges associated with your use of the App. Fees are subject to change at any time, and we will notify you of any changes in advance.

7 Cross border remittance
- 7.1Cross-border remittance services are subject to the laws and regulations of the sending and receiving countries.
- 7.2You are responsible for providing accurate recipient information. We are not liable for any losses resulting from incorrect information provided by you.
- 7.3Exchange rates and fees for remittance services will be disclosed before you confirm the transaction.
8 Prohibited activities
- 8.1User agrees not to:
- 8.1.1Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose;
- 8.1.2Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems;
- 8.1.3Engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with the App’s functionality;
- 8.1.4Use the App to harass, defraud, or harm others;
9 Your privacy, your choice
- When you access our CBE CONNECT application, we collect and process your personal data. One of the ways we do this is by using cookies. By selecting Accept, you agree with the processing of your personal data for performance, marketing, and advertisement purposes, as well as us using cookies to do so.
10 Intellectual
- All the intellectual property rights related to CBE CONNECT application, its contents, the logos, images graphics trademark of CBE, you shall not copy, modify or reverse engineer them.
11 Termination of the use of CBE CONNECT Application
- To terminate the use of CBE CONNECT application, at any time, the Customer must be clear of any payments from the usage of the CBE CONNECT application and communicate CBE through its contact email at CBEcontactcenter@cbe.com.et.
12 Limitation of liability
- You understand and agree that CBE will not be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including, but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses (even if you have been advised of the possibility of such damages), resulting from your use or access of, or inability to use or access of CBE CONNECT application.
13 Governing law
- These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ethiopia. Any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms or the App shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Ethiopia.
14 Location data collection
- 14.1By using our application, you consent to the collection and processing of your device’s location data (GPS, IP address, or network-based location) for the following purposes:
- 14.1.1KYC (Know Your Customer) Compliance: To verify your identity, prevent fraud, and meet regulatory requirements.
- 14.1.2Service Delivery: To provide location-based features (Agent locator /ATM locators) and optimize service efficiency.
- 14.1.3Marketing & Personalization: To deliver tailored promotions, offers, or advertisements based on your region.
15 Changes
- We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other means. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
16 Indemnification
- You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CBE CONNECT, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of your use of the App or your violation of these Terms.
